Myofascial Release focuses on rebalancing the lines of the fascia, the connective tissue that wraps through and around all structures and tissues in the body, like a 3D web.

The fascia reacts to life - your environment, your experiences, your feelings - it adjusts to whatever comes along. This is an amazing ability, but when things go wrong it can also mean areas of trapped tension, held trauma or loss of tissue tone, all of which transmit through the body and form a deep part of how we feel in our bodies as we move- from 'bouncing off the walls' to feeling 'weighed down'.
The approach is a mixture of different techniques:

The 'direct', as found in Rolfing and Structural Integration - this is quite a firm and strong touch.

The 'indirect' or 'unwinding', as found in the work of J.Barnes - this is a subtle, slow and gentle touch.

Myofascial release is used in the Remedial Bodywork sessions wherever needed.
